MILFORD, CT
Welcome to Milford, "A Small City with a Big Heart!"

Milford, CT is truly a nice place to visit. Sometimes when we travel through Milford—especially along Boston Post Road—we groan because it's become so commercial. But on the other hand, there are now lots of places to shop.
There are also areas of Milford that offer breathtaking views, historic homes, and scenic landscapes that make us wonder if we’re still in the same city—views that many travelers never see.
Strolling through downtown, you get that small-town feeling coupled with the charm and sense of history of an English settlement dating back to 1639. Seventeen miles of Long Island Sound coastline funnel into our harbor, which winds its way to meet the Wepawaug River in the heart of town. As the sixth-oldest town in Connecticut, with more than 50,000 residents, Milford boasts a meticulously maintained town green—the second longest in New England.

A sense of "Milford Pride," along with ample cultural, recreational, educational, and employment opportunities, makes the city more than just a great place to visit. High-quality arts and crafts shows, varied festivals, and local events make Milford a destination for day-trippers. Water recreation abounds with access from boat launches, the Milford Lisman Landing Marina, multiple city beaches, and Silver Sands State Park. The Connecticut Audubon Coastal Center at Milford Point offers views of the estuary and Long Island Sound, along with educational programs about their inhabitants.
Rounding out our unparalleled quality of life is a strong retail community that provides shoppers with a full range of consumer goods. From the mall to the varied and diverse offerings of our small retailers—we sell it all. Milford also boasts an ever-expanding automobile row, furniture stores, specialty shops, restaurants, and hotels ready to meet all consumer needs.
